Gluepot Day 1

September 14, 2013  •  Leave a Comment

After staying at Hattah-Kulkyne National Park for one night I decided on a change of plans. The weather was forecast to be warm and I thought I would head to Gluepot to take advantage of the bird hides and water. I would stay at Gluepot for 2 nights. So I packed up early in the morning and had one last look around before heading to Waikerie for fuel and supplies. I headed over the ferry and my first stop was the Grasswren Tank hide. The hot weather was attracting many Yellow-Plumed Honeyeaters.

Another common honeyeater at the water was the Brown-headed Honeyeater.

Some of the smaller birds also came in to visit with a Weebill coming in briefly.

A Striated Pardalote also came for a drink.

As the sun started to set I headed back to the campground to setup along with all the mosquitos!
